Chateau de Versailles was the perfet backdrop for the elaborate garden party that was Chanel Cruise 2012/13. Draped in wide legged, relaxed fit trousers, pleat front tweeds, full skirts and candy hued pageboy cuts, models paid homage to the era of Marie Antoinette. Lace underpinnings were exposed, waists and collars were high and ruffled tiers were a plenty. Flatforms (and menswear) aside, the collection was…ok. I swooned for individual pieces; the voluminous skirts and light weight tweeds, but as a collection, Cruise 2011/12 PRevailed.
